Senior Accountant @ Tilt
Tilt (check us out here) is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is a high-impact role with significant ownership over core accounting functions and a path to leadership. You will take the lead on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, and revenue recognition, and play a key role in our upcoming ERP migration, including the design of our new Chart of Accounts. You’ll be instrumental in helping us scale our accounting infrastructure and will have the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager role as the company expands.
This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Finance.
Job Description: Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Own and manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable and expense management process using Ramp, including vendor onboarding, invoice approvals, and employee reimbursements
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, billing operations, and customer invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate collection and cash application
- Manage and maintain accurate and GAAP-compliant revenue recognition (ASC 606), with support from our ERP system post-migration.
- Lead key portions of the month-end close process: prepare journal entries, reconciliations (bank, AR/AP, accruals, etc.), and financial reports
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and scalability of accounting processes, with a bias toward automation and simplification
- Support annual tax preparation activities and spearhead sales tax compliance
You’re a great fit if:
- You have 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS startup, including ownership of AP, AR, and revenue processes
- You’re proficient in GAAP, especially ASC 606, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a growth environment
- You’re skilled in Google Sheets/Excel, including advanced formulas and process automation
- You’re systems-savvy and comfortable jumping between tools like Ramp, Rippling, QuickBooks, and others
- You have high levels of empathy and can connect deeply with Tilt’s mission
- You want to grow into a leadership role, eventually managing other members of the accounting team
- You bring a mix of detail orientation, hustle, and a proactive mindset—we don’t expect perfection, but we do expect ownership
- You have experience working with a startup and/or with a B2B SaaS business
Virtues/Competencies:
1. Health & Family First
- You balance work and personal life effectively

2. Autonomy + Team. Always

- You are focused on scale and building - you understand that pace is equally as important as quality
3. Be Curious
- When you don’t have all of the answers, you dig in and ask questions
- You don’t let negative assumptions drive your actions and instead assume positive intent and find truth
- You are intentional in discovering the paths of self development Tilt has to offer and seek out opportunities to engage in professional growth
4. Love Our Customers
- You show empathy and compassion; you strive to meet people where they are to offer maximum support
5. Fearlessly Flexible
- You go with the flow and deal with (lots) of ambiguity
- You’re not afraid to work without clear direction
